I brought cassava here to New York, a very well-known vegetable in the Dominican Republic, when I got my visa to come to New York. I have an aunt who wanted that vegetable. She lives in new York, so she asked my mom if she and my brother could bring it. With a lot of love we brought it to her because it doesn't cost anything and she's my aunt. Days later, when they bought me a flight to come to New York, we told my uncle who has a vegetable farm, and he said yes, no problem. Three days after we left he brought us the cassava for my aunt. My mother told my aunt that the cassava is now safe to take to my aunt when she arrives in New York. My aunt came to look for the cassava. For me, cassava is a food that gives us vitamins. My family and I like it very much and we treat it with a lot of love.
