Jewish Yamaka

My object is a Jewish Yamaka. This object is a significant part of the Jewish tradition, and has been worn throughout the history of Judaism. This object is also known as a Kippah, and can be made from pretty much any source, such as cloth, silk, velvet, leather, etc… This object is usually worn during any Jewish holiday, and it can represent a time of Jewish spirituality and religious depth, but this mainly depends on the Jew. This is also worn by men, while women would usually not wear this.
In my family, all of the men wear this piece on Jewish holidays since my family is fully Jewish. This not only depicts how my family is fairly religious, but also how my family likes to connect to our roots and keep to the culture of our ancestors before us. For me, the Yamaka makes me feel at home and very proud of my ancestry, therefore connecting me with my family and Jewish roots. It helps me to be reminded of who I am, making sure that I develop into the best possible person that I can be.
For all Jews, the Yamaka and other Jewish garments can help us stay connected and united as a community and support the intention to provide for our local communities. Objects like these can represent how we just want to be connected with one another through whatever religion or belief system we want to follow, highlighting the importance of belief.
