WWI Medals
The medals I brought in were from my great grandfather for serving in World War I. It was a Purple Heart, a medal from the French government, and a Veterans of Foreign War medal. He got the Purple Heart after getting injured in France, and spending five years in the hospital. The French medal was given to any foreign soldiers who helped to protect their citizens. It was really cool to see this part of my family’s history, and learn what my great grandfather did for our country. It is symbolic to our family because of what he did to serve our country, and how important the medals were to my grandfather and his father.
