My mother tells me to bring her the wooden turning stick. You might be wondering what it is used for, well it's used to make fufu or ugali. What is Fufu? Fufu is dough made out of flour like maze flour, Cassava flour, and it is one of the most common foods in central and west Africa. My mother teaches me how to make it. She starts by telling me you need to boil water for a couple of minutes, once the water is boiled u put the flour into it, then you use the turning stick to turn, turn, turn, until it's dough like. Making it is a little bit harder than I thought and it takes a long time to finish cooking, but it is worth it cause it makes me feel close to my culture and I get to learn something new.
