Child of im/migrant
My parents immigrated to the United States in 1998 and 1999 from South Korea amidst the IMF Financial Crisis and its aftermath, seeking better employment and educational opportunities. While they've spent nearly half of their lives in the United States and gave birth to me and raised me here, we always use chopsticks at the dinner table, which I've always felt brings me back to my culture and our backgrounds (and in some cases, easier to use than forks).
