My Great Great Grandparents came from Germany to Dreispitz, Russia because of the political unrest in Germany but eventually when the U.S. was giving out land if you farmed it for 7 years they moved to Romona, Kansas, around the 1920's. There's not much information about her but I have plenty of information about her daughter- my Great Grandmother Lorene. She was one of my Great Great Grandparents many children but one of the few born in America rather than Russia. Shown is her beautiful small gold wedding ring from my Great Grandfather in 1940, since she only lived till 37 due to her having a deformed heart, the ring she never took off is one of the few objects that connects me to her as well as few stories. Her ring has been passed down to my Grandmother who wears it everyday as well and the ring will eventually be passed down to me.
