Being a child of two parents who are deeply in love, a good solid relationship was something I cherished. The feeling of making a commitment forever and sticking together means a lot to me.  This promise that was made is that no matter what happens, the promises that were made are to be kept. This ring is my father’s wedding ring. My father died when I was 13 years old, but before he died he promised that “no matter here on earth or wherever I go, when I die I will always be with you” and I promised him that I would do the right thing and be the daughter that he knew I could be. I wear this necklace with his ring on it (as shown in the picture) because in a way I feel like he’s with me every day.  If I’m not wearing it, I carry it in my purse or backpack. This ring symbolizes my family’s heritage because my family commits to their promises, as well as I do myself.
