watertown house
This is a picture of our family vacation cottage in Watertown, Wisconsin. In 1950, my great-great-grandfather, Red, purchased 5 acres of property along the Rock River. He sub-divided it into five parcels, giving one to each of his three daughters, and the remaining two were given to extended family. A cabin was built on the property, with my great-grandma spending lots of time there in her teen years. In 1977, after she married and had children, my great-grandparents built a year round cottage on the property, and eventually retired there in the 90s. When my dad and his siblings were born, they also visited often throughout their childhood. My parents have always brought my siblings and I here, and in 2016, when my great-grandpa passed, my dad and my grandma inherited the property. Many memories have been made on this property and have been passed down through five generations. This house is even more special as the neighboring properties are still owned by extended family today.
