A gift from my grandmother

My necklace is a picture of La Virgen de Guadalupe (Lady of Guadalupe) which is a symbol of my religion, which is catholic, and on the back of my necklace my name and middle name. This was gifted by my grandmother from my dad’s side, and she is someone important to me because she has been the only person who really has been there for me even though she lives in Mexico. My grandmother always had a vibrant aura with her that I truly love about her and is someone that will always put a smile on someone's face. Everytime she sees me or my older sister through a facetime call, she is always so happy to see us because out of all my cousins, my sister and I are the ones that live in the US, so she doesn’t see us often but definitely misses us. The Lady of Guadalupe connects back to my grandmother because she always tells me to go after my dreams and to pray that I will be led to the right path for my future in life whether it’s academics or any problems/issues that I face in life. My grandmother is someone that is so important to me because being in Mexico for three weeks, we got closer to each other that she felt like a second mother to me. Overall, she really is one of my biggest supporters ever that I feel her support with me every time I wear the necklace every day.
