My family artifact is a video recorder with old tapes. My family has had it since 1997. This recorder is very valuable to me because I got to see old videos of me when I was first born and videos from my childhood in Albania. I got to see the memories that I was too young to remember or events my siblings experienced growing up. Seeing my family love and raise baby me made me feel loved and important. I’m very appreciative of the fact that my parents held on to this recorder and tapes even when we moved to America because I know some people don’t have memories from their past and feel lost. However, I feel very grateful to be able to know where I come from, and to be raised by a loving family.
