Great Great Grandfather's Tie Clip

The artifact that I chose is a tie clip that belonged to my great great grandfather.  It is a piece of jewelry that is to keep the neck tie from going all over the place.  It’s kind of a box with a triangle at the bottom and he wore it to keep his tie neat at work. It is a golden color and has a long chain that attaches to a button.  It also has his initials, JS, on it. His name was Joseph Leo Schirle, but people called him Leo.
I chose this thing because it was my great great grandfather’s and was passed to my grandma, then to my mom and then it will get passed down to me and my sister. It is not a cultural artifact it was just special to my great great grandfather. I have some thoughts like where did it come from? my great great grandfather he is from Germany and then immigrated to Canada and then to the USA. So I wonder where the tie clip came from.

Place(s): Germany to Canada and then to the USA
