Rosary
The first object means a lot to me because since I was born, my family told me that I had to wear it everywhere I go and I would be safe. Me as a kid I didn't want to wear that kind of stuff because I thought it was stupid but I started to grown and started to understand the meaning behind it. The meaning behind the Rosary is that it keeps you safe, and always in touch with God and we should wear it everywhere we go for good luck and protection.
The Cachupa dish means a lot to me too because that is what I grew up enjoying and I still enjoy it still to this day because it’s something that never dies in our culture it also means a lot not only for me but to all Cape Verdeans. I remember one time I was about 5 years old and everybody used to ask what my favorite food was. I would always say Cachupa and at the time it was one of the best dishes I ever knew and it's still is because it’s something that I love since I was a kid.
