I remember that on the 23 of  August in 2017 when I was 9 years old I was spending 2 weeks at my Great Grandma’s house in the countryside. We were alone spending a good time together and it was time to cook, we were going to prepare for ourselves fried chicken with rice and red beans. We started chopping the vegetables and after a while of chopping it came time for the garlic,she gave me her best Pilon, and she said to me, “This is from me for you, so you can learn what we both like to do.” My heart at that moment was full of joy and excitement to learn, and since then I developed a love for the kitchen. It made me have a big appreciation for this tool because it always made me involved and feel essential for the job. With time I would share this gift the same way my great-Grandmother did, gift it to my grandchild when the time is right.
