"The national dish":
 Pupusas‌ ‌are‌ ‌an‌ ‌important‌ ‌part‌ ‌of‌ ‌my‌ ‌identity‌ ‌culture,‌ ‌because‌ ‌they‌ ‌come‌ ‌from‌ ‌El‌ ‌Salvador‌ ‌which‌ ‌is‌ ‌where‌ ‌we‌ ‌are‌ ‌from,‌ ‌they‌ ‌are‌ ‌known‌ ‌for‌ ‌their‌ ‌delectable‌ ‌taste‌ ‌and‌ ‌are‌ ‌called‌ ‌the‌ ‌national‌ ‌dish.‌ ‌They‌ ‌were‌ ‌made‌ over ‌2000‌ ‌years‌ ‌ago by the indigenous pipil tribe,‌ ‌and‌ ‌brought‌ ‌to‌ ‌America‌ ‌when‌ ‌the‌ ‌civil‌ ‌war‌ ‌was‌ ‌going‌ ‌on.‌ ‌That’s‌ ‌how‌ ‌Pupusas‌ ‌got‌ ‌around‌ ‌and‌ ‌now‌ ‌mostly‌ ‌everyone‌ ‌knows‌ ‌that‌ ‌they‌ ‌are‌ ‌part‌ ‌of‌ ‌Salvadorian‌ ‌culture.‌
Pupusas are one of the first foods that I learned to make as a child, as well as my cousins. My siblings are still a bit too young, but I know they will learn to make them deliciously. My‌ ‌whole‌ ‌family‌ ‌is‌ ‌from‌ ‌El‌ ‌Salvador‌ ‌and‌ ‌most‌ ‌of‌ ‌them‌ ‌migrated‌ ‌here‌ ‌while‌ ‌some‌ ‌are‌ ‌still‌ ‌living‌ ‌there.‌ ‌My‌ ‌family’s‌ ‌story‌ ‌is‌ ‌unique‌ ‌because‌ ‌our‌ ‌parents‌ ‌traveled‌ ‌here‌ ‌for‌ ‌their‌ ‌kids‌ ‌to‌ ‌have‌ ‌a‌ ‌better‌ ‌life‌ ‌and‌ ‌
future,‌ ‌they‌ ‌taught‌ ‌us‌ ‌everything‌ ‌about‌ ‌respecting‌ ‌our‌ ‌elders,‌ ‌how‌ ‌to‌ ‌take‌ ‌care‌ ‌of‌ ‌younger‌ ‌kids,‌ ‌and how to cook.‌ ‌Most‌ ‌importantly,‌ ‌we‌ ‌all‌ ‌know‌ ‌each‌ ‌other‌ ‌and‌ ‌get‌ ‌along‌ ‌very‌ ‌well.‌ ‌Some‌ ‌people‌ ‌don’t‌ ‌ever‌ ‌want‌ ‌to‌ ‌even‌ ‌talk‌ ‌to‌ ‌their‌ ‌family‌ ‌because‌ ‌they‌ ‌are‌ ‌distracted‌ ‌with‌ ‌other‌ ‌stuff.‌ ‌So‌ ‌I‌ ‌am‌ ‌grateful‌ ‌that‌ ‌my‌ ‌family‌ ‌is pretty big.
