The dough to make tortillas.

In my childhood, every day I saw my grandmother using that stone. I was always curious to know what she did with that stone and how it was used, but I was too little to try to use it, or so my grandmother said. The fact is that she was right because only the arm of the grinding stone was heavy enough for her to not be able to lift it. The grinding stone is a stone plank with four legs to support it, it consists of two pieces, the plank and the stone hand, this is a round cylinder. It is used to grind different foods, my grandmother used it to grind a cheese that we call curd and also corn which we first brown on a comal, it is a process we carry out to make a natural juice. My grandmother would stand at one end of the board, place what she was going to grind on the same end where she was, then take the stone hand with both hands, one on each end, and begin to make strong movements toward it. Moving forward, with every movement she made she had to grab small portions of what she was grinding with her stone hand, until she could finish it all. This stone has been in my family for a long time, all the women in my family learned to use the grinding stone, it is a tradition that we have in the family. When I turned 12 I had to inherit that stone and learn to use it, my grandmother was the one who taught me that tradition, I had beautiful moments back then.
