This crest originates back to my very many greats grandfather, Michael Antione Garoutte, who was the 1st cousin of King Louis the 16th of France. Garoutte immigrated to America to help fight in the American Revolution and was going to return to France after but stayed because he met the love of his life and stayed in America. I got this picture of our family crest from my grandmother who had a friend draw it for her to have part of our history on who our ancestors were. This item shows part of my family’s history about who they were and how we got over to America.
