The bowl of Pho
I was born in America and I didn't have much of an appreciation for the traditional culture of the Vietnamese people. It wasn't until the age of 14 that I really started to appreciate it. When I was visiting Vietnam I stayed with my great grandmother where she would always cook. The last day she made pho and that would also be the last time I would eat her homemade food. She passed away next April. When she passed she left a list of her recipes and I have memorized the recipe for her pho by heart and I would make it for my family on special occasions, it may not be as good as hers but it has just as much love.
