I'm going to be talking about the altar at my house. The altar at my house has so much meaning to our family because that’s where we have pictures of people we loved but unfortunately they have passed away. The way my altar looks like is tall, its black, its like medium size, not too big and not too small. My grandma put lights all around the altar so it wouldn’t look dead and it would have a little bit of life. The reason this altar has so much meaning is because we put up pictures of family members that have passed away, and sometimes my grandma puts a cup of water and food to honor them. She thinks that somehow they “eat” the food and water she leaves. We also have the Virgin Mary and other type of saints on the altar so they can watch over them and keep them safe. We have other type of religious stuff on their like rosaries, the bible, we also have a candle there but obviously we turn it off at night, we are not trying to burn the house. Dia De Los Muertos is a really big day for us because that day we make it all about them and make sure to honor them all day.
