During the summer of 2013, I went on a cruise vacation with my family to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, and Grand Turk. This was a very enjoyable trip, and I got to make wonderful memories with my family. On this trip, I met a friend who became someone very close to me while on this vacation. Unfortunately we don’t keep in touch anymore, however it was a very fun time. During that year it was especially difficult for me because that was the year I was moving schools (coming to Léman), and I already had a very hard time making friends. This is what made this specific moment very memorable for me. During the entirety of that vacation, we spent everyday together doing random things like playing in the pool, looking for animals when the ship stopped, and much more. As the cruise vacation was coming to an end, she ended up giving me the gift of this teddy bear which I have kept with me ever since. As you can see from the photo it is very fluffy and has a red shirt that says the name of the cruise on it. Seeing this teddy bear just reminds me that everything worked out, and I’m still okay. It reminds me of how scared and worried I was at the start but now I’m finishing school way better than I was before. Because of this, I bring this bear with me any time I travel out of New York, to remind me that it is okay to be in a place you are unfamiliar with, you just have to learn to adapt to a new environment.
