Story pending

This teacup was given to my great-grandma, Golda as a welcome gift to Germany by her friend Helga in 1950. Her husband (my great-grandfather) had lost his father in the holocaust 5 years prior and was still not fully recovered. This gift symbolized a new beginning and a new life for my great-grandparents. My great-grandfather still suffered from PTSD, but he saw having a child as a new opportunity. My great-grandmother, Golda, had just found out that she was pregnant with my grandmother. 20 years later, she passed it on to my grandmother in 1970, three years after my dad was born. My grandmother told the story of this teacup to my dad and  still owns this teacup in her house today. Four years ago, my great-grandmother passed, and my grandmother uses this teacup to honor her life, which lasted 99 years. One day, my grandmother will pass the teacup on to my father and my two uncles.
