Tea Kettle
This tea kettle came as part of a set that was originally made over 50 years ago and belonged to my father's parents. My grandparents passed it on to my parents when they were coming to America. It was given as a gift so that they wouldn't come to America empty handed and also so that they would never forget their roots. Sadly, the cups that came in the set with the kettle were broken in transport, but luckily the kettle was undamaged. My parents have now been in America for 23 years and moved 6 times but the kettle has always followed us from one home to another. The kettle has never actually been used but is rather just meant for decoration in the house. Both of my paternal grandparents have passed and so this kettle is the only object that my father has to remember the both of them by. I am sure that one day it will be passed on to me seeing as to how I am the next man in the family.
