When it is Christmas, my family and I enjoy making tamales together. I have some good memories with tamales from when I was in elementary school. It is when I started to like them a lot because they were easy to make so I got to help and I liked that they have lots of different flavors. This food is important to me because there are lots of people who like tamales.My mom has told me in the past that her mom, my grandma,  showed her how to make tamales and she made them with some different ingredients.They were the same ones that we use but they taste a little different because they are from Mexico and the ingredients taste a bit different there. Most of my family and I make tamales for holidays because we all like making them in different flavors and it's fun making them together overall. The day that we mainly make them is El Dia de Los Reyes. It's like Christmas but in Mexican tradition. My mom and dad were the people who showed me how to make tamales  because they are both chefs and they taught me how to cook traditional Mexican food. Tamales are a big tradition in Mexico because people sell them during the holidays and they’re made by the Aztecs. They were invited to fill the need for portable food to be eaten in battle.
