Swedish Pancake Pan

  • Every year, me and my family go to a lake cabin resort. In the past it has been a sleeping fawn resort, a nice little set of cabins in park rapids. These days, we go to northern lights resort, another set of cabins in Richville that my uncle used to own. But regardless of the place, one thing stays the same. My Grandpa always makes Swedish pancakes. If you have never had one before, think of them like a crepe. They're quite similar to those, except they are a bit sweeter. They taste the best with lingonberry jam, syrup and butter, all rolled up with a sausage and/or bacon in the middle. The pancakes are not the thing that I am going to talk about today, but rather the pan on which they are made. The pan is like a very thin sheet of metal with a handle on it, and it is a big circle. I am not quite sure what it is made out of, but it's obviously metal of some sort. The pan reminds me of the good times I have each summer up at the cabin, and it also reminds me of my Swedish heritage. Unfortunately, the original pan is old and needs to be replaced, so we had to do that. Now, my family and my grandparents have new plans to create even more memories with. Hopefully, the tradition carries on for many years to come.
