Summer Camp
In 2018 I went to a summer camp, The Fessenden School English Explorers ELL Summer Program, in Newton Massachusetts. The camp was international. I met many people from different parts of the world. We would share our culture with others. I learned about food from Italy, China, Japan, Thailand, and This was my second year in the camp. The school would evaluate how you treated classmates, teachers, and counselors and at the end of the summer, someone would receive the Mark J. Hansen Leadership Award. 2018 was the second year they gave out this award and I won it. This plaque is important because it shows that I can be a good leader. This award inspires me because I want to help my country and I was given the opportunity to represent it. My country is poor and is drowning in corruption, I want to help my family and friends who are there. When I become an adult I want to help countries in Central America and around the world. I want to help create schools, hospitals, and help with corruption around the world. This award helps me remind myself of that goal. And since I am 15 years old, I won’t be able to attend in any of the following years, and this plaque will help me remember that summer.
