Sugarcane
I’m from Bamako in a country called Mali . Bamako Mali is in West Africa. It’s also called Mali of the King. The reason they call it Mali of the king is in 1312 to 1337 there was a King named Mansa Musa. He was one of the richest men in the world. An object that means a lot to me is the sugar cane and the memories I have of the sugar cane, a grass in my country. Mali is a beautiful country. It is never too cold and the sun is always out during the day. At night, the moon is always out with beautiful stars. When it rains, it rains a lot in Bamako but in some parts It's not raining much. Sometimes hail accompanies the rain. One thing I really like about this country is that there are fruit trees everywhere. If you own a fruit tree, you don’t need to buy fruit! When I was in Bamako, I lived with my aunt, in a village called Kati. In the village, they have a lot of sugar cane, apple trees and other fruit trees. These trees bring fresh air and clean air, but they also bring us fruits! I used to eat a lot of sugarcane, bananas and pineapple. I remember that I would always grab a piece of sugar cane or grass to eat. I like to think about this because it reminds me of my beautiful country, Mali. I came here two years ago, when I was in the second year of high school. I didn't know anyone and I didn't know how to speak English. All of this is not true anymore, but I miss Mali sometimes. Just writing this makes me miss it! N tɛ se ka miirili dabila i la n ka Mali cɛɲi.
