This image is a stuffed artichoke, It is a traditional Italian dish that is had by my whole family on Christmas eve. This dish is made with artichokes and a breadcrumb/parmesan cheese based stuffing. This dish means a lot to me as it reminds me of my grandmother and my family, it is a symbol of love and togetherness for me as it is a meal that always brings my whole extended family together. My family came from Italy to Syracuse New York in the 1910s with nothing but their suitcases and made a home for themselves in the united states. I am very proud of my family and my heritage as Italian culture is very loving and family based, it is always fun to bring friends to my family gatherings as they are always made welcome with open arms. I love my family and I love my grandmother, she makes lots of very good traditional Italian dishes such as the stuffed artichokes, linguini with clam sauce, homemade lasagna and more! She is one of the biggest and only reasons that I am connected with my Italian heritage and culture as she keeps the ideals and traditions alive in our family. I love to learn about my families past and about my ancestors it makes me feel very connected to the past and I am proud to be a part of the Capucilli bloodline. I cant wait for next Christmas so that we can all be around the table sharing stuffed artichokes again.
