Soup Joumou means a lot for us.  Every New Year people from Haiti make Soup Joumou. Based on our history Soup Joumou means our freedom because  the French treated us  like we're animal, they always eat Soup Joumou but we couldn't drink it, only make it for them.  After some of fighters revolted against the French and started eat that and after that it become part our culture because it remind our freedom.
