Sombrero

The object is a sombrero. It's from Mexico, it’s used for shade because it is a hat. I think anybody can wear this hat but it was probably made for farmers. They use it to protect the head, neck, and most of the shoulders from the harsh light of the sun. Rain, too. The sombrero is made of felt or straw. It dates back to as early as the 15th century in Spain around the time Spain colonized mexico.
I chose this because it looked cool and it could have many different colors. It teaches me the culture because sombreros are also worn at parties like mariachis wear,  and farmers wear them. Dads wore Texan Mexican sombreros for parties. My dad and my cousin are connected to the sombrero because they like to dress up and go to parties. My mom came to the U.S in 1997.
