My object is one of the many pairs of slippers.  The object is important to my family and I because since my parents are immigrants from Korea we were taught to take off our shoes before entering the house, because it was a sign of respect. If a guest arrives at our house my parents would offer them some sandals or some slippers since we assume they didn’t do that at their house, so there’s always a bin of them next to the door. So I would sometimes get the nearest pair of slippers even if I’m not at my house and I’m at someone else’s house or I would give up and walk barefoot.
It is also important to me because my family also wears slippers everyday in the house. This specific pair is special because they don’t fit on everyone in our family except my mom.
It describes part of who I am because I’m Asian and it shows how I was raised differently compared to other people.
