Skateboard
Sophomore year was a perfect life for me. I would skateboard every day after school with my best friend Sebastian. I can recall countless sleepovers where at midnight, we would bring our skateboard and skate till we were dripping in sweat. I had no worries about what was to come and spent every second enjoying myself. I choose this white and red skate deck as my object because it is a piece of my high school experience that shaped who I am as a person. I think of it as a symbol of my friendship with Sebastian who moved away that summer. This skate deck taught me how valuable the things that you have are, because maybe, they will happen to disappear. Everything that you experience will eventually turn to the past and I’ve learned this lesson through my experiences. I always look back on what I used to have instead of what I have now. Eventually, I will look back on my moments in senior year and wish I was back where I am right now. Maturing is one of the most difficult things about being a teenager and growing up is pretty terrifying. That’s why it’s important to have souvenirs to remind you of the good times you used to have.
