In my family when someone does something for the first time we always celebrate. When I was 7 or 8 I fasted during Ramadan for the first time in my life. I used to see my family fasting I always said to my parents that I wanted to fast too -  they always said “no you cant fast because your young for fasting now.” One day I convinced my parents for me to fast then they let me fast that day. This was my first time fasting we didn't celebrate but my parents bought a silver chain and ring for me as a gift to remember that moment. I used to wear the chain and ring and as I was growing the ring started getting small for my finger so I decided to give it to my mom to keep it safe. Now I am in America but I still remember that moment when I get the ring and chain from that key moment in my Muslim life.
