Black Shalwar Kameez

Shalwar Kameez is our traditional clothes in Pakistan which people wear it commonly or on Friday for Jummah prayer.  Something that makes it special for me is I don't wear it alot, back in my country I wear t shirts and jeans and my mom used to tell me you should wear it will look good on you and I used to say no and most of time I wear it was on Eid for Eid prayer because every men in my family used to wear it and it was very common in my country.   In 2020 I came to America with my siblings  without my mom. She gave me one black Shalwar Kameez to wear on Eid. I took it with me and I came here to the U.S which was very hard for me but had to come for a good future. One day one of my friends told me about culture day at our school and they told me to wear it something that represent your culture and I had that one black Shalwar Kameez which truly represents my culture but I was nervous because I thought it will look bad on me and people will make fun of me wearing it  but my friends encouraged me to wear it so I did. The next day I came to school wearing it and many people asked me about it they said I look very good in it and I was surprised they really liked it which makes me feel good and I started liking it and now everytime when someone from my family goes back to my country I always tell them to bring 3 or 4 different colors of Shalwar Kameez with them and that one black Shalwar Kameez change the way I used to think of my culture dress cause I used to think it doesn't look good on me but what i hear about it from my friends makes it easy for me to wear it in U.S.
