Sauce day is a day where the true definition of family comes out in its best form. A group of people who love and value each other coming together once a year to create the sauce that travels through generations of many italian families. However making the sauce is not the only goal of our annual sauce day, we use it as a day to come together that everyone refuses to miss and will go out of their way to make sure they can come to Sauce day. Once the job is done we have a big lunch together prepared by my Grandma and Aunts all of which are her daughters. Our family uses a lot of sauce and it will never get old because every time we are eating it we think back to the great days we spend with our family on sauce day. It’s hard to imagine a life where your family is not very close because in my opinion having a group of people you love and cherish and can rely on is the most important thing to have in life and nothing will ever go above that. Not only does it remind me of my family and the great day that comes every year it reminds me of my grandfather who is no longer with us. This person was someone to look up to, he was a very strong and loving man with a personality that is simply incomparable to anyone else I know. Although my grandfather passed many years ago you can still to this day mention his name in his home town and everyone will then refer to him as the man with the heart of gold and you will receive instant respect from everyone.
