Rosary

My object is a rosary. The purpose of the rosary is to help keep in memory certain principal events or mysteries in history. There are twenty mysteries reflected upon in the Rosary, and these are divided into five main mysteries that correspond to the five decades of the Rosary. This image represents religious values, and doing religious practices, such as praying/doing prayers. I chose this image and object because my parents and grandparents both grew up Catholic. My parents made me participate in a lot of religious ceremonies and practices because our family were raised as Catholic. I relate to this object specifically because me, my parents, and grandparents at times would do group prayers. Me and my mom would pray with the rosary together. Religion can influence our values of knowledge and could potentially create bias. Each bead on the rosary represents a different knowledge of someone's faith and beliefs. The rosary beads can affect how we view our and other's faith, and how we live our lives on a daily basis. Religion can offer a multitude of answers to fundamental questions, specifically about the meaning and purpose of human life. However, many people do not use or believe in religion and religious practices, such as the rosary. People often question religious teachings and believe that they don’t see any persuasive reason or evidence to believe in religious faith. Overall, being raised in a religious household and into a religion can cause people to create values and beliefs of knowledge and faith surrounding religion.
