Ring
On October 17, 2015 I left Yemen. In that day just before I fly by 6 hours I was walking at Old Sana'a for the last time. I saw beautiful gold ring inside the store so I buy it. Since it was my last day in my country I bought it as memory. But, people assumes it is my engagement ring because I wear in on my the third finger on your left hand for the purpose of size. In fact there is lot of discrimination against Muslims that girls marry in young age. So when I am in public places that ring bring lot of attention to my fingers which is uncomfortable to me. I receive lot of questions asking if I am married, It’s very hard to explain myself almost everyday to people telling them that I am not . But later on I found that this ring represent who I am and my internal self. In other words this ring help me to keep focusing in my goals, and the purpose of me being in school because I found that it helps me get rid of a lot of distracting boys. When they come to see me and they see a ring on my finger they do not approach me in the same way. I like this because it helps me get rid of things I don’t want to get involved in. I think it also helps my emotions because i don’t believe in real love when you are under 20 so this helps me keep any attempt of fake love away.
