Rap Book
My rap/lyric book is a symbol of my childhood. I started listening to rap when I was 5 years old and I started to rap along to some songs. By the time I was 6 years old I memorized songs and I started rapping and I thought I did pretty good. But one day someone told me “you’re not good enough.” Those words hit me. I quit rapping for years because of those 4 words. By the time I was in 7th grade, I bought a composition book and I labeled it “ Rap Book” and writing lyrics again. I was never going to give up. I wrote lyrics until I lost my book during 2nd trimester. I was mad because it took time and effort to come up with lyrics that come from the heart and tell you the truth. But I memorized the lyrics and rewrote it again. Today I still write lyrics in my book and keep them to myself if they are personal. I sometimes show my friends. They enjoy me sharing things that have happened to me in the past. That book is part of my life because I put so much time and effort into it and put my heart into it. I’ll continue to have that book until my time has come.
