raggedy ann doll
My mom lives in Australia and this doll was gifted by her uncle, Jim Baral. My grandparents survived the Holocaust, so it was tough adjusting, but when they had my mom, she has this doll from when she was a kid. When I was younger, I played with the doll whenever we went to Australia as it lives like a tradition in our family. My great uncle, who passed in 2011, discovered Reyes Syndrome along with RDK Reye. This is the NY times article on him: https://www.nytimes.com/1999/05/11/health/the-doctor-s-world-tale-of-triumph-on-every-aspirin-bottle.html. This doll wasn't just a toy, but commemerates the memory of my great uncle.
