QuranMy object is the Quran, the holy book of Islam. Our Quran is a hardcover that’s colored blue and is engraved with God's name. It has a gold strap that works as a bookmark. The Quran is believed to be the word of God, revealed to the prophet Muhammad by the angel Gabriel. It was originally written in Arabic, but now they have English versions for those who don't speak Arabic. I chose the Quran because it connects to my identity as a Muslim. It was brought down to the prophet and he spread the teachings of god to everyone, and specifically my family and I were born into Islam. The Quran has 604 pages, 6236 verses, and 114 surahs (stories). It is not just a book with stories, it's a guide that helps me and my family make decisions and understand what's right and wrong. It allows us to be considered pure and good people. Something that people need to know about the Quran is that it's a guide and is made for Muslims but anyone can convert to Islam if they are committed. The Quran not only brings us closer to our religion but also to our roots and where we came from.
