Quinceanera Ring

A quinceanera is a special time in a Latina girl’s life. When I turned fifteen, we had a big family celebration to mark me growing into being a young lady. When my quinceanera came around, I got a special ring from my parents that would make me remember the most beautiful fifteen years of my life. They gave me this ring to remember my good times when I was fifteen years old. This ring is so special to me because my parents took the time to look for the color of my ring and they chose a color of Amethyst. Amethyst is February’s stone. My birthday is in February, so my parents decided it would be special to choose that color for my ring.

I want to have this ring for the rest of my life. It is a reminder of how happy my life was when I was fifteen. It is also a reminder of my parent’s hard work and love. As the years pass, and I am 30 years, I want to be able to look at this ring and remind myself just how happy I was the moment they gave it to me. Right now I'm sixteen years old and every day since my quinceanera, I wear my ring as a promise to myself that I will not lose it!
