My mom grew up in a rancho called “14 de Junio” and she would dance and rain. She loved to go to church and keep her Catholic traditions. When she was 21 she lost her dad. She says “It was the worst pain in her life.” When she got older she met my dad. After dating for 4 years they got married. Then, they decided they wanted to come to the United States for a better life. My dad came first to Minnesota. Finally, my mom immigrated to MN. In 2002, my mom immigrated to MN from Harlingen, Texas. She brought pictures of her quinceneara. She wanted to keep a piece of her parents because she would be leaving her whole family. Later on she wanted to show her daughters who their grandparents were and where she came from.
