My mother had moved here in teen years. She had left Palestine to get away from the war and the horrible affects that came along with it. She had came her to better her own life and the future of mine and my sister. Her father, who is my grandfather, was from Egypt. He had passed down these mini replica pyramids of Giza that have enscribed Arabic on them. When my mom moved to the U.S., she brought them with her as a memory to her culture and also her family. She had them met my father who took her in right away and took care of her. He is also from Egypt and had moved here when he was just 5 years old. Both of them did not grow int rich families, but worked hard to get where they are today, which is what these pyramids symbolize to me.
