My family makes this dessert together often. It’s basically a recipe taken off the back of a cereal box and then very slightly adjusted because my family likes things to be a little extra sugary. It’s not unique to my family either and plenty of people make or buy their own versions of this dessert. But it still means a lot to me. I make this dessert with my mom and brother at least once a year. My mom and dad even met when my mom brought puppy chow to a party because both of their parents used to make it for them. To me this dessert represents closeness and connection with my family.
