This is my family artifact. It is special because it's how we all gather together as a family. For Thanksgiving, my Puerto Rican family makes this yummy meat dish with rice. This dish is called arroz y gandules y pernil. In english this means, rice with pigeon peas and roasted pork shoulder. It sounds weird, I know but trust me it's so good. The pork takes hours to make because its so big. We have lots of other dishes but this is one of the main dishes you’ll see at my family's house on thanksgiving. This is a family artifact because the elders teach the young ones of the family how to make it.
