PS3
My mom and my dad were both born in the U.S. So while they didn’t struggle with being new to the city, they both had their own set of problems. We were living with my maternal grandfather at the time. My mom was regularly fighting with her dad and my dad was always tired from overworking and trying to provide for us. Regardless of whatever was going on, my parents #1 priority was to make sure they bonded with their kids. We would always play the PS3 together. Whenever my mom needed to decompress, or my dad was off from work, we’d play a variety of games to reestablish our relationship. When we would play we’d usually play games that required teamwork or some form of communication. And In a way, games shaped us to be the people we are today. We established a sense of community while also having lighthearted competition. That working as a team is better than working alone and you need to have a good sense of communication. Sadly around 2015, my younger brother broke the PS3, but regardless, just games in general like card games, board games and more helped us develop a sense of competition and team work, and that no matter what, we should always have each others back.
