My great grandmother and grandmother have always had a very strong belief for higher powers. The Lady of Health is believed to take care of her followers when prayed to. According to my grandmother, if a non-believer prayed to her for help the non-believer would be punished. In 1981 in Morelia, Michoacán, my grandmother, shortly after giving birth to my mother, was declared dead. My great grandmother prayed and wrote down my grandma’s name on the card. With her strong belief, it is believed she brought my grandma back to life with her prayer. This is why you see the words “Guille, Socorro Cesilia” written underneath her picture. Guille, her sister had also fallen ill at one point and so did Maria (Socorro). Cesilia is the name of my grandmother. If it wasn’t for our lady of health and my great grandma’s strong belief, my cousins would not be here right now because my mom is the oldest out of 3. She’s now keeps this card safe.
