Polaroids
For me the hardest part about being an immigrant is having to leave your family behind. When i was a child i moved from the DR to Aruba with my parents. A big part of my family stayed behind and we used to visit them only during the summers. I remember i used to wait the whole year for that trip. It became super important to me to capture those moments on my polaroids. Not being able to be with the rest of my family the rest of the year gave those pictures an invaluable importance. Now that i'm an adult me and my friends have also moved abroad to go to college and we only see each other during the summers. You'll always find me with my camera trying to capture those moments to cherish and remember them forever. I keep those pictures on my wall as a reminder that no matter were we are even thousands of miles apart, we are always together.
