Story pending

In the summer of 2013, I tried my first ever plantain. But I didn’t try it like how others usually try for the first time. I had plantains in the form of mangu. I fell in love with the dish the right way. My mom and my grandmas alongside my aunts, they were all experts when making this dish. It’s composed of mashed plantain with sides which would create a delicious meal for you and your loved ones. As year’s moved on I began to love the dish more and more until I eventually learned how to make it. That’s right, I learned how to make the dish completely. It was taught to me by my mother as well as my brother, who also happens to learn how to make the dish. This story is important for me to tell because being able to learn how to make a meal that all my ancestors before me are able to make means a lot and is something that I hope to pass to the future generations to come. The Bananas that were represent my native background of Dominican republic as it is one of the most sought after meals there is till this day. Being able to prepare a meal composed of these plantains represents my deep roots as well
