pierogies
My ancestors from a long time ago immigrated here from Czechia(used to be Czechoslovakia). We dont have a lot of traditions from our eastern european heritage except one. Every little Christmas, which is on January 6th we have pierogies. Along with the perogies we also have some sort of potato soup and sometimes we have cabbage rolls Pierogies are little crescent shaped dumplings that have a variety of things in them. Some have meat and cheese and lots more.. Little Christmas is the day where the 3 kings meet Jesus and give him the gifts. We have done this every single year that I can remember. This tradition was started before my dad was alive but his family very rarely did it, so my dad wanted to start it again so we could have at least one tradition that connected us to our eastern european roots. Although I have no clue where this tradition came from, but I know that it is awesome.
