My dad is origionally from Brazil. He came to the United States in 2001 and met my mom. My mom had me in 2007. I grew up always having my mom and dad around, but a few years ago my dad had moved back to Brazil. This was a huge change for me because I was used to seeing him everyday and then I knew that I would have to get used to living my life without having him around. He tells me that he will always be here for me and I believe that but I know that he can't be physically here for me. My dad comes to visit every few years and we try to visit him whenever we have a chance to. I love spending time with him, but goodbyes have never been easy on me. This picture means a lot to me because it shows me how close we are as a family even though there is a distance between us now. A distance of 5,268 miles.
