My story is about my dad. One day my family and I had all finished eating, and he started looking through old photos and found a specific one. It wasn't uncommon for my dad to tell me stories about his childhood because he likes telling them, but this one felt more important. It was a photo of my dad when he was a kid. In the photo my dad is sitting down in a restaurant where his mom had worked; they were drinking Coca-Colas. My dad had told me that earlier that day he and his siblings had finished playing house and then ate some lunch after. When he was telling me about the photo, I felt like it came from a good part of his life, and I am glad that he is happy talking about it so openly. 
       The reason I like this photo is that I feel like it helps me understand my dad better; it helps me understand how he used to live, how he had fun, and how he had been a kid. I also like that I can learn about his life when he lived in Mexico. Even if this picture isn’t directly related to me, it is very interesting learning about the way he had grown up. I have always wanted to understand my dad better, and him talking to me and showing me photos of his life makes me feel more connected to him. They help me realize that he had another life besides being a dad, and it makes me feel even more grateful for having someone like him.
